DARYN KAGAN, CNN ANCHOR: Well, they are telling us to go somewhere that we don't where we're supposed to go. OK, suddenly I have an inspiration of what I think we want to talk about. All the hot new wireless gadgets. That what I really wanted to talk about it. That is it. You know, it came to me.
These hot new wireless gadgets are on display at the spring Comdex show in Chicago. And that's where we find our Jeff Flock. He is checking out a device that literally puts the entire Internet at your fingertips -- Jeff.
JEFF FLOCK, CNN CORRESPONDENT: One of the big themes at the spring Comdex, wireless devices. This is not new. This is a pocket PC. But on top of it is something that is reasonably new. And that is wireless modem. Tell me what it is, Jeff Rodgers.
JEFF RODGERS, ENFORA: This is Enfora's wireless CDPD (ph) modem in a compact flash form factor (ph). It's unique in the only compact flash CDPD modem available today. Works amongst any of the pocket PC or Palm OS devices. That includes a compact flashlight.
It includes its own battery as well. It's important due to the fact that other modems currently available would utilize the battery of the PDA itself.
FLOCK: So it sucks this thing dry.
RODGERS: Exactly.
FLOCK: This won't do it.
RODGERS: Exactly. It includes its own lithium ion battery. Usability is anywhere between six and eight hours.
FLOCK: Now I can, because of this modem, get the whole Internet. Like some PDAs only get a limited portion of it, this is pretty much the whole thing.
RODGERS: That's correct. You know, that's another great thing about the pocket spider itself. Utilizing and working with pocket PC devices, it does give you the full web experience.
FLOCK: So I can go and check stocks. I can go anywhere I can go on the web. RODGERS: Exactly.
FLOCK: What does this go for?
RODGERS: This unit is $349. And in the near future, we will be releasing our version which incorporates GPS capabilities as well.
FLOCK: Now, there's no dial-up. It's on all the time. What's that cost me a month?
RODGERS: The service ranges anywhere from $24.95 a month to $54.95 a month depending on carrier.
FLOCK: And this goes on most devices, not all the Palms, but at least one of them.
RODGERS: Yes, in particular the TRG Pro (ph) unit.
FLOCK: Good deal. Jeff Rodgers, appreciate it. Thank you.
RODGERS: Thank you.
FLOCK: The latest, and the theme this year: wireless Internet devices. That's the latest. Back to you.
KAGAN: Thanks so much.
