DARYN KAGAN, CNN ANCHOR: Crocodile Dundee is on the prowl again.

LEON HARRIS, CNN ANCHOR: That's right. Only this time, he's turning up where you might least expect him -- wherever that may be.

DARYN KAGAN, CNN ANCHOR: Here's Michael Okwu, he's in New York with the latest edition of "Showbiz Today" to tell us about it.

Hi Michael.

MICHAEL OKWU, CNN CORRESPONDENT: Good morning Daryn, good morning guys. Happy Friday to everyone.

Just when you thought that there were no more shrimp to throw on the barbie -- here comes another "Crocodile Dundee" movie.

This time around, the man in the alligator vest is crossing the Pacific and hitting the jungle of Los Angeles. Sorry, L.A.

CNN's Sherri Sylvester caught up with Paul Hogan and has more.

(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)

SHERRI SYLVESTER, CNN CORRESPONDENT (voice-over): Long before there were these survivors of the Australian outback, there was this one.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP, "CROCODILE DUNDEE")

PAUL HOGAN: First trip anywhere.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

SYLVESTER: "Crocodile Dundee" first hit theaters 15 years ago, grossing $360 million. A sequel added another $250 million to the till. And after a long walkabout, Paul Hogan returns in the role he originated.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP, "CROCODILE DUNDEE IN L.A.")

HOGAN: I'm just sitting up here thinking about a new career mate.

(END VIDEO CLIP) HOGAN: I got me to come back, because I can -- because I own the franchise.

SYLVESTER: This time, he has gone Hollywood with his fish-out- of-water story.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP, "CROCODILE DUNDEE IN L.A.")

UNIDENTIFIED ACTOR: I don't suppose you know Mel Gibson.

PAUL HOGAN: Mel Gibson? Ought to -- bailed him out of jail twice.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HOGAN: L.A.'s become the culture capital of the world. You know, music, entertainment, fashion, and other wonderful things like drive-by shootings and road rage all come from L.A. "Crocodile Dundee in Seoul, Korea" would be a tough one because we don't know enough about the place.

SYLVESTER: "Crocodile Dundee in Los Angeles" also stars his real-life wife Linda Kozlowski, but she took some convincing.

LINDA KOZLOWSKI: I had sort of mentally left the business. I just was not happy with the quality of work I was getting and I would rather not work than to do schlock. So I said "OK, my biological clock is really ticking."

HOGAN: When I said, "I'm doing it, again," she was pregnant or -- yes, she was pregnant -- in the late stages of pregnancy. I said, "I'm going to do another one."

KOZLOWSKI: What? So I had to do -- major switch in my head.

SYLVESTER (on-camera): You had to do the juggling act, you had your little boy with you while you were filming. That was something too.

KOZLOWSKI: Yes, that was different -- not sleeping at night and coming to the set at 4:00 in the morning.

HOGAN: Well, he turned two while we were filming the movie. Which doesn't make it easier because 2-year-olds are not humans at all. But he's just a little ray of sunshine anyway. He gave me a big sloppy kiss before I came down here this morning. You know, I didn't need coffee to get me going.

SYLVESTER (voice-over): Hogan says he's lazy at heart and stays out of sight when he's not making a movie. So we wondered if he spends his free time like so many of us do.

SYLVESTER (on-camera): What do you think of the "Survivor" television show?

HOGAN: I'm ashamed to admit that I watch it and enjoy it... (LAUGHTER)

HOGAN: ... the way people turn on each other like snakes, that's what it's all about. It's not about survival.

SYLVESTER (voice-over): And Crocodile Dundee is one character who's never had to worry about his rice tin floating away.

Sherri Sylvester, CNN entertainment news, Hollywood.
