DARYN KAGAN, CNN ANCHOR: The Senate has voted on and passed the budget proposal for fiscal 2002.
For more on that, let's go to Capitol Hill and Jonathan Karl -- Jonathan.
JONATHAN KARL, CNN CORRESPONDENT: Yes, Daryn, that vote is still taking place, but more than 51 senators have voted yes, which means that budget solution, including a $1.35 trillion tax cut over the next 11 years, have passed.
So far, there are five Democrats that have voted in favor of this. There are still two Democrats that we're waiting to hear from. And there are two Republicans -- Jim Jeffords of Vermont and John Chafee of Rhode Island -- who have voted against it.
So far, it looks like this has certainly passed, with at least five Democrats supporting the Republican president on the centerpiece of his legislative agenda, the budget, including that tax cut -- Daryn.
KAGAN: Very good. More on that in just a bit. Jonathan Karl, on Capitol Hill, thank you.
