DARYN KAGAN, CNN ANCHOR: It is another violent day in the Middle East. There are reports of at least 10 injuries in a missile attack against Palestinian attacks in Gaza City. Earlier, two people were killed in an explosion at a crossing point from Israel into Gaza. CNN's Jerusalem bureau chief Mike Hanna joins us from Jerusalem now with the latest -- Mike.
MIKE HANNA, CNN CORRESPONDENT: Well, Daryn, a number of targets of the missiles that showered on Gaza City. Among the targets, a police station, offices of Palestinian Intelligence Organization, and a building belonging to the Fatah political movement of Palestinian Authority leader Yasser Arafat.
No official comment from the Israeli Defense Force as yet. However, Israeli military sources say that the attacks were carefully planned at targets associated with Palestinian security apparatus and the Fatah movement, which it's accused in the past of involvement in the ongoing attacks on Israeli civilians and soldier.
The Israeli military sources say that this attack, the missile strike, was in response to killings earlier in the day of two Romanian contract workers, who died in central Gaza when a roadside bomb detonated alongside the car in which they were traveling.
It has been a day of ongoing violence earlier on. There were clashes in the southern Gaza town of Rafah, where Israeli forces demolished a number of homes and a police station in a refugee camp near the town that they said were being used as shelter by Palestinians targeting Israeli soldiers patrolling the nearby border road between Gaza and Egypt.
So, a day of ongoing violence reaching a new level with the Israeli missile strikes on what it says were carefully selected targets within Gaza City. The casualty list at present, according to hospital sources in Gaza, 10 Palestinians have been injured in the missile attacks, all of them receiving treatment for moderate wounds, Daryn.
KAGAN: Mike Hanna in Jerusalem. Thank you for that update.
