DARYN KAGAN, CNN ANCHOR: In California now, the attorney for actor Robert Blake says he will be delivering several boxes of evidence to police in Los Angeles today. Detectives returned to the former television star's home last night. They were looking for more clues in his wife's shooting death last weekend. Our Charles Feldman joining now from Los Angeles with the latest -- Charles.
CHARLES FELDMAN, CNN CORRESPONDENT: Yes, good morning. The LAPD, as you just pointed out, executed another search warrant last night for the home of actor Robert Blake, the police saying that they did this based on some interview statements made with other people the day before that led them to believe that they need to look for specific evidence in Robert Blake's home.
So they went back late last night with another search warrant. Mr. Blake's attorney Harland Braun was along as well.
The police also were seen towing away an automobile believed to be a car owned by his deceased wife Bonny Bakley. It's not known at this time what exactly police are looking for in the car.
Now, you mentioned that his attorney, Blake's attorney, had said that he intends to hand over to police some documents and evidence. What that is about is he has been adamant, the attorney that is, that the LAPD on the first sweep of Mr. Blake's home failed to confiscate material that he says shows something hidden in his wife's past that might be responsible for her murder. So the attorney hired a private investigator. And the PI has taken possession of those documents. And the lawyer now saying he is going to give that over to the LAPD this morning.
And that's pretty much where the investigation stands now. There are some tests, scientific tests, that are still outstanding. Some may actually take weeks to conclude. But, of course, that does not mean that in the event that the police feel they have enough evidence to move they may decide to arrest someone for the murder.
Now, the police have said that they have not yet ruled out anybody. That includes, of course, Mr. Blake, but they have also not publicly named any leading suspect.
