LAURIN SYDNEY, CNN CORRESPONDENT: It's hard to believe that it was 10 years ago that Trisha Yearwood's debut album CD went platinum; 13 million albums and three Grammys later, Trisha will release her 10th CD called "Inside Out."

And joining us now to give us the inside scoop of this new release is Ms. Trisha Yearwood.

Thank you for joining us today.

TRISHA YEARWOOD, MUSICIAN: Thank you.

SYDNEY: These stats are just incredible. I have to read them because you have 10 No. 1 hits, 19 in the top 10. Does that mean that every release that comes out, you have extra pressure upon yourself?

YEARWOOD: Well, every time you have a No. 1 record, then there's the pressure to continue to do that. But I have been very lucky. I have always been able to choose songs that I love. And we have been very lucky at radio.

SYDNEY: Now, on the flip side of the pressure is all the joy and satisfaction. The CD came out June 5 to coincide with your cover on "Billboard." Is that a dream come true?

YEARWOOD: It's actually not even something you would dream about. You know, I don't think I would ever have expected to be on the cover of "Billboard" and have that kind of a tribute for 10 years. It was just a -- it's kind of overwhelming, because it seems like it's all happened very quickly.

It doesn't seem like it's really been that long. So it's been nice. It's kind if made me kind of pause for a moment and look back and go: It's been a great 10 years.

SYDNEY: An incredible 10 years. You had a little help -- not that you needed it -- on this particular release. Who are some of the people that have joined you?

YEARWOOD: I can use all the help I can get. And I love the sound of unique voices -- everybody from Rosanne Cash. We recorded "Seven Year Ache." That was a hit for her 20 years ago. And she was kind enough to come in and sing on that.

Don Henley, who I've worked with before, came in and sang on the title cut, "Inside Out" -- and Vince Gill -- my friend Kim Richie, who's been on several albums.

So I like the sounds of voices that are very distinctive. And it just works out nicely for me that they happen to be famous rock stars.

(LAUGHTER)

SYDNEY: And just happen to be some of your really good friends.

YEARWOOD: Yes. It's very nice.

SYDNEY: And besides music, you are acting: recurring role on "JAG." You just finished shooting for the season?

YEARWOOD: I did. It just aired in May. And I do that about once a season. They haven't killed me off yet. So I guess there is always a chance I can go back.

SYDNEY: They can't kill you off.

YEARWOOD: I know. They have to bring me -- they bring me in every time somebody dies. I am the forensic pathologist on the show. And it's fun. It's nice. I go back about once a season. And I get a change to do something that is completely out of the singing world. And it's fun.

SYDNEY: OK, now you're going to do something in the singing world. You're going to sing for us.

Trisha, take it away. And thanks so much for stopping by.

YEARWOOD: Thanks so much for having me.
