KYRA PHILLIPS, CNN ANCHOR: Officials right now are looking for some help from the public in their search for Chandra Levy. Here are some of the latest developments in the case of the missing intern so far. Police say they will release a list of Web sites that Levy visited just before she disappeared. They're hoping that information may coax new clues from the public. Now authorities say they'd like to talk to Congressman Gary Condit again and there were demonstrators outside Condit's California office calling for him to resign.
CNN national correspondent Eileen O'Connor joins us now from Washington with an update on the Levy search.
Good morning, Eileen?
EILEEN O'CONNOR, CNN NATIONAL CORRESPONDENT: Good morning.
Well, there's about 30 police recruits about to get off buses right beyond this bridge that I'm standing on in the middle of Rock Creek Parkway. They are going to fan out and for the next six hours, again, start to search this area of Rock Creek Parkway. They have been searching around this area for the past couple of days.
Why are they interested in this area and along these -- the creek bed itself? Because Chandra Levy was interested in this area and showed that interest by pulling up maps of this area on her -- on Web sites on her computer. It's about two miles north of where Chandra Levy's apartment is. It's also, as you can see, this is a pedestrian bridge, very popular with joggers, and police say that they know that Chandra Levy did a lot of exercise, did a lot of jogging.
She also -- they are also, the police say, expanding their search to include some other parts in another area of Washington, not this close to Chandra Levy's apartment. They are going to be using -- going into Fort Davis, Fort Chaplin and Fort Mahan. This is Southeast Washington. It's in the Anacostia region. They say they're doing this because they want to explore any green area in the Washington area. And what they are looking for is bits of disturbed earth, perhaps items of clothing, anything that could have shown them that perhaps Chandra Levy was there, perhaps she met with foul play.
They do say that they are going to continue this search, perhaps for the next two weeks, as long as it takes. Another thing they're doing is trying to recreate her state of mind right before her disappearance. They say that'll help them get -- help give them clues.
PHILLIPS: All right, Eileen
O'CONNOR: Leon.
PHILLIPS: Eileen O'Connor, with the latest on the search for Chandra Levy, thank you.
