MIKE BROWN, FISHERMAN: Slapped myself around to stay awake so I wouldn't fall off the boat.

UNIDENTIFIED REPORTER (voice-over): It sounds like a tale on the high seas from an adventure novel to. But to 29-year-old Mike Brown, it was a real life drama.

BROWN: A 10-foot wave.

UNIDENTIFIED REPORTER: Brown's 10-foot boat capsized Monday evening about two miles off Egmont Key, and he drifted in the Gulf for the next 24 hours. He waited for help.

BROWN: I was thinking eventually somebody would cruise by and ask me if I'm all right.

MCNALLY: And late Tuesday afternoon, someone did. This man, Captain Bob Ostrum. He came along in his boat Double-O.

CAPT. BOB OSTRUM, FISHERMAN: I saw something red floating, I thought it was a -- I didn't know what it was. I went over to see what it was, and he was sitting on top of the capsized vessel.

UNIDENTIFIED REPORTER: Captain Ostrum pulled Brown on board Double-O, and the Coast Guard brought him to (UNINTELLIGIBLE), where paramedics checked him out. He's fine. The Coast Guard says things could be a lot worse.
