MICHAEL OKWU, CNN ANCHOR: Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker returned to theaters this weekend in a long-awaited sequel, and the traffic for the newest "Rush Hour" created a bottleneck at the cineplex.

CHRIS TUCKER, ACTOR: Speak English to me.

JACKIE CHAN, ACTOR: That means that you go this way, and you got this way.

TUCKER: I go that way, and you go this way?

CHAN: Yes.

TUCKER: OK.

OKWU (voice-over): "Rush Hour 2" tied up the top spot at the box office this weekend and took the fast lane into the record books. The sequel to 1988's hit collected an estimated $66.8 million bucks. That's the biggest opening for a comedy ever, and the fourth best ever overall. The film stars Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker as karate- chopping buddy cops.

Last week's number one, "Planet of the Apes," slipped to the second spot with an estimated $28.5 million.

"The Princess Diaries" opened at number three for the weekend. The modern day fairy tale starring Julie Andrews and Anne Hathaway took an estimated $23.2 million.

And in fifth place, moviegoers were still swooning for "America's Sweethearts." The comedy starring Julia Roberts, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Billy Crystal collected an estimated 8.4 million dollars.

OKWU: In other news, Rosie O'Donnell revealed a long-held secret this weekend. The talk show host declared that she has been diagnosed with clinical depression and has been on medication for over two years. O'Donnell writes about her battle with the disease in the September issue of her magazine, "Rosie." She says that after she began taking antidepressants, her depression "slowly faded away."
