LAURIN SYDNEY, CNN CORRESPONDENT: Good day everybody, I'm Laurin Sydney.

And the day is coming where instead of going to a movie theater, you will be able to watch it on your computer. Five major movie companies, lead by Sony, announced Thursday that they are forming a joint venture to offer new releases, like Nicholas Cage's "Captain Corelli's Mandolin," on-line. The venture, called Moviefly, is expected to debut next year.

Now, the idea is to pay and download. Broadband users can download the average movie in 20 minutes. The studios says that new security technology will prevent illegal sharing of the films on-line.

Now, until that day comes, you will have to go to the theater to see "Captain Corelli's Mandolin," and here to tell us whether that film hits a sour note is "Rolling Stone" film critic Peter Travers, who you can be see every single Saturday morning at 10:30 a.m. on CNN's "He Said, She Said" show.

PETER TRAVERS, "ROLLING STONE": Yes, and I'm here now, too.

SYDNEY: OK. Well, sour note or a high note?

TRAVERS: OK, Leon was right, you know. He said, I think I'll take a pass. I think everyone should take a pass. And yet, here was the romantic movie based on this novel set in World War II. Nicholas Cage, an Italian soldier coming to a Greek island, falling for Penelope Cruz.

SYDNEY: Sounds good.

TRAVERS: Doesn't it? And Greece looks great. So I give Greece -- Mr. Grouch gives Greece four stars, it looks four stars. And he gives the movie a half a star, because Nicholas Cage has an Italian accent, even though he is Italian, that sounds like Meryl Steep rejected 100 years ago.

SYDNEY: Bikes.

TRAVERS: Christian Bale, who's a Welsh actor, who plays her Greek boyfriend -- I don't know what he's doing. And Penelope Crud, I guess she needs the publicity by dating Tom Cruise now, her do-star in the upcoming "Vanilla Sky," but this movie is a mess. And we needed a romance, we did. We needed it so bad.

LEON HARRIS, CNN ANCHOR: Hey, guys...

SYDNEY: OK, Mr. Grouch.

HARRIS: Hey, guys, sorry about this, Leon here in Atlanta. I hate to break in folks, but I got to show you something that we're just now getting in right now, it's breaking news here.
