MICHAEL OKWU, CNN CORRESPONDENT: Real life has given a former "Survivor" a new challenge, a legal one. "Survivor"'s first season million-dollar winner, Richard Hatch, pleaded innocent to a domestic assault charge Tuesday after allegedly pushing a former gay partner who tried to force his way into Hatch's Rhode Island home. Hatch had gone to his county's courthouse to obtain a restraining order against Glenn Boyanowski when he learned of an arrest warrant had been issued on him. Hatch turned himself in and was released on $1,000 bond. He is expected to appear in court on September 7th.
He didn't win a reality gameshow, but actor Colin Farrell might be called a Hollywood survivor. The young Irish heartthrob in the retailing classic American Old West legend. He's riding high as Jesse James in the new film "American Outlaws."
CNN's Lori Blackman shows us this "SHOWBIZ TODAY" star of tomorrow.

LORI BLACKMAN, CNN CORRESPONDENT (on camera): Sitting beside me is actor Colin Farrell, who is so busy these days that we are actually meeting up with him here at his resting suite.
COLIN FARRELL, ACTOR: My resting suite.
BLACKMAN: What exactly is a resting suite?
FARRELL: You tell me. You've probably been to more of them than I have.
BLACKMAN: Well, I'll tell you, you're not too busy to get your hair cut.
FARRELL: Yes, tell me about it.
BLACKMAN: So this is not for a movie, correct?
FARRELL: No, it's not. It was a mistake I made yesterday. I went into a shop and I saw a bottle of bleach on the shelf, and I was bored, so I thought I would bleach my head and look what happened. I won't be doing that in a hurry again. But I tried to shave it off, and I seemed to have bleached my scalp, so.

FARRELL: Look, you are a hardship discharge, if I have ever seen one.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
BLACKMAN: A little bit over a year ago, you had "Tigerland" come out. All the attention went to you. You were the "it" guy overnight. How much has your life changed in the last year?
FARRELL: Not as much as you might think. I mean, I haven't been home as much as I would like to be in the last year and a half, but I've been working so hard. I've been going from job to job.
BLACKMAN (voice-over): You've actually taken a lo lot of big roles from people lately. You've taken from Matt Damon "Minority Report," from Jim Carey "Phone Booth," and from Ed Norton, "Harts War."
FARRELL: The big parts stealer.
BLACKMAN (voice-over): But was that almost humorous to you?
FARRELL: Yes, that's why I just had a giggle to myself. Yes, it was kind of funny, because I was just a stealer of parts, a person who is building a career based on the fact that other people are turning down gigs.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
UNIDENTIFIED ACTOR: Who are you people?
BLACKMAN: The James Gang.
UNIDENTIFIED ACTOR: The James Gang?
BLACKMAN: The James Younger gang.
Let's ride!
(END VIDEO CLIP)
BLACKMAN: All right, so now you have another movie out right now called "American Outlaws" where you play Jesse Helms. The irony being you're from Dublin.
FARRELL: Yes.
BLACKMAN: Kind of funny, an Irish lad playing Jessie James.
FARRELL: I thought so. I thought it was kind of funny when they offered me the part. When I went on to the "American Outlaws" thing, I wasn't quite sure what the film was or what kind of film is was going to be or what it was about, so thank God the director was reminding me everyday that it was meant to be light and kept light, and there was a lot of winking and smiling. Hey, I'm Jesse James, you know.
BLACKMAN: You did your own stunts for this film, and there were actually a lot of them.
FARRELL: I did as many as they'd it was just a 24-year-old is asked, do you want to run along a train? do you want to jump through a window? Do you want to ride horses pretty fast? I mean, yes, please, me, me.
BLACKMAN: Jesse James is a rebel, Roland Bozz from "Tigerland" was a rebel -- you a bit of a rebel yourself?
FARRELL: No. Piece of cake, I am.
BLACKMAN (voice-over): Lori Blackman, CNN Entertainment News, New York.
(END VIDEOTAPE)
OKWU: That's it from here. I am Michael Okwu. Back to you guys in Atlanta.
KAGAN: Thank you, Michael.
