UNIDENTIFIED CNN CORRESPONDENT: John Atry from Athens, Georgia asks, what are we doing to prevent terrorists from repeating these acts when flying in From other countries?
AMB. L. PAUL BREMER III, FMR. AMB. FOR COUNTERTERRORIST: John, it's a good question.
Actually, in the past couple of years, a number of us have repeatedly pointed out that the security at airports overseas, particularly airports which serve the United States, is a lot better than the security at our own airports.
There is being debated in Congress right now, this week in fact, a bill to try to improve airport security here in the United States, perhaps by federalizing the workers, or at least by establishing federal standards so we don't have different standards around all of our airports.
But I think the fact is that the United States has been slow to adopt the same kind of security procedures which we've seen on most airports serving the United States abroad. Their services there really have been better.
