ANNOUNCER: Robert Hinton from Laurel, Mississippi asks: With all the concern about anthrax, can one simply go to their local doctor and get vaccinated for this disease?

ELIZABETH COHEN, CNN MEDICAL CORRESPONDENT: Following the anthrax attacks, many people asked themselves that very question and the answer is no, you can't go to your doctor and get an anthrax vaccination.

Right now there's only one anthrax vaccine approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, it's made by a company called BioPort in Michigan. The U.S. military has cornered the market on that vaccine and is in the process of vaccinating service members. The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has asked the Pentagon to sell some of its vaccine for lab workers and others who are regularly in contact with anthrax. But if you're an ordinary citizen, you wouldn't have access to an anthrax vaccine.
