THIS IS A RUSH TRANSCRIPT. THIS COPY MAY NOT BE IN ITS FINAL FORM AND MAY BE UPDATED. MILES O'BRIEN, CNN ANCHOR: The search for baby Jasmine has now gone nationwide, dozens of Chicago police and the FBI searching for the 16-month-old girl reported abducted from a crowded Chicago bus station on Christmas Eve. The baby's parents are using the media to help in the search.
Melanie Stout (ph) of CNN affiliate WTMJ in Milwaukee, the parent's hometown, talked with baby Jasmine's father.
(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)
GREG KNOWLES, JASMINE'S FATHER: I couldn't believe it. I was shocked. I was hurt. I couldn't believe it. I didn't want to believe it. I still don't want to believe it.
MELANIE STOUT, WTMJ-TV REPORTER (voice-over): Greg Knowles says he's still trying to come to grips with the fact that his 16-month-old baby girl has disappeared. Jasmine's room is quiet, her swing and crib are empty, her Christmas presents still wrapped and her whereabouts unknown.
Are you going to get her back?
KNOWLES: No. No. I want to believe that I'm going to see her again and everything is going to be fine, but I know in situations like this normally things don't turn out good.
STOUT: Knowles says he doesn't know why someone would take his child.
KNOWLES: If I had went on the trip, probably would never happen.
STOUT: And says he feels guilty for not being at the bus station with Jasmine on Christmas Eve.
KNOWLES: Hello.
STOUT: Now he answers phone calls and questions from reporters and detectives as the search for baby Jasmine continues.
KNOWLES: I would be happy just as long as I knew that she had a life and that she was going to live and that she was going to be OK. I love her. She's very special to me. I'd never let nothing like that ever happen to her again. (END VIDEOTAPE)
O'BRIEN: And that report came from Melanie Stout of our affiliate WTMJ in Milwaukee.
