LEON HARRIS, CNN ANCHOR: Well, the snow continues to fall this morning in parts of the south where several inches of it piled up in Georgia, Mississippi, Alabama and the Carolinas. Folks in Alabama are waking up this morning to more of this wintry mix, and that's going to add to the roughly two inches that fell yesterday. And as we said, this storm is still going on strong.

Let's check in now with Rosey Edeh and get the latest look at it -- Rosey.

ROSEY EDEH, CNN CORRESPONDENT: Oh, boy, yes, we still have some more snow on the way here in Atlanta. The heavier snow is starting to fall. It should be out of our area this afternoon, but we do have some more snow on the way. Driving is slick. Atlanta Hartsfield International Airport reporting some delays because of deicing, and that takes a long while when you don't have a lot of equipment to back you up there.

So let's just take a look here at the area that's causing the most concern. Into the Carolinas, we are seeing more snowfall. There's about six inches at the airport at Raleigh and we're expecting the heavier snows to push into that region later on this afternoon. So we still have a winter storm warning in the Southeast, particularly for Atlanta, moving on into the Carolinas. So you've got to be careful.

You see this area? It doesn't look like much when you look at it here, but plenty of snow is falling. We've got reports of up to five and a half inches for Tallulah Falls in Georgia. So, yes, the snow continues to fall in our region.

Let's just take a look here, a closer look anyways at what's going on in Atlanta. You see the white there representing the snow. The snow is falling. As I said, the heavier snow bands are right now starting to pass over Atlanta. Behind that you've got lighter snowfall, which should start to fall later on this afternoon. But you see along I-20 several accidents have been reported.

We've got a mixture here around Macon of sleet and snow, so that is making driving conditions quite treacherous. You're going to have to be careful. I-85, I-75 have reported some accidents. The snow continues to fall, as I said. The winter warning is in effect in Atlanta till this afternoon and in the Carolinas we're expecting even heavier snowfalls. We could see over a foot of snow around Raleigh. So you're going to have to brace yourself there, and we're going to have plenty of pictures to show you as the day goes on -- Leon, back to you.

HARRIS: All right, thanks, Rosey. You're going to be busy today.

EDEH: Oh, yes.

HARRIS: All right, get some coffee.
