LEON HARRIS, CNN ANCHOR: But this morning we begin in Afghanistan.

That's where CNN's Bill Hemmer is standing by live in Kandahar, as he has been for the last couple of weeks. He's got the latest for us right now on America's new war -- Bill, good morning. Or good afternoon, to you.

BILL HEMMER, CNN CORRESPONDENT: Hey, well, thank you very much. Coming up on evening here, Leon. Good morning to you back in Atlanta.

The first air strikes in five days carried out overnight in eastern Afghanistan. We'll tell you what the target was there. Also, where is Mullah Mohammad Omar? The reports and the rumors are rampant, Leon. It gets your head spinning at certain times to follow all of it. We will let you know what we believe we know at this time. And also, if the U.S. were to find him and apprehend him, what would happen in the near term? We'll talk about one of the possibilities coming up shortly.

Back to you now in Atlanta, Leon. See you in a couple of minutes.

HARRIS: OK. You got it. We'll check back with you in a bit.
