JACK CAFFERTY, CNN FINANCIAL ANCHOR: Time now to look at some other stories here on "American Morning" in a segment we fondly refer to as the "Morning Buzz." So, now we shall buzz (ph).

Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon out with what could, I guess, be described as an inflammatory statement in an interview with a newspaper this morning in Jerusalem.

PAULA ZAHN, CNN ANCHOR: The interview was done in Hebrew, but he essentially said that he wished, when Israel invaded Lebanon back in 1982, that PLO leader Yasser Arafat should have been killed.

CAFFERTY: He was the defense minister.

ZAHN: I think there were various interpretations of what he said, "liquidated" was one word I heard this morning.

CAFFERTY: He was the defense minister for Israel at this time, I think, under Menachem Begin, but he also -- didn't he also say that he would be willing to set up a demilitarized Palestinian state and that Israel would be willing to give some land to get that done in that same interview?

ZAHN: I believe he did. In addition to that, he basically said, I mean at a time when the Israeli government has been saying Yasser Arafat is irrelevant, he went on to say that he is trying to work out the details of a new peace deal with him.

CAFFERTY: Right, yeah.

ANDERSON COOPER, CNN ANCHOR: There is a great story running on the AP that after all we've heard about conditions in Guantanamo, among the prisoners, all the outrage in Europe. Apparently Afghan prisoners in prison in Northern Afghanistan want to be taken to U.S. lockup in Guantanamo because conditions so bad at this prison in Northern Afghanistan. Apparently there's hardly any water, few medical supplies, no food, no protection from the winter. A lot of them don't have shoes. They are suffering from tuberculosis, and they look at -- you know, they're saying take me to an American prison.

ZAHN: There was an extremely pointed political cartoon in the newspaper at the end of last week. It was a picture of Castro sort of surveying what was going on at Guantanamo Bay, saying "there goes the neighborhood." CAFFERTY: Right. Now they want to go to Guantanamo because the conditions over there are worse.

Super bowl is coming. The mutants are getting ready, and we have pictures. You know, the fans go to illogical extremes. Here's a guy getting ready. He is a Patriots fan, and he is getting his mohawk ready to go...

ZAHN: Nice!

CAFFERTY: ...for the Super Bowl.

ZAHN: Nice shoes, too.

COOPER: That is dedication.

ZAHN: Oh, look at that.

COOPER: There you go, there you go.

ZAHN: Is that a mohawk? What is that?

COOPER: Sure.

ZAHN: Oh, there we go.

CAFFERTY: If I had enough hair left on the top of my head, I would get one of those, but fortunately I don't.

COOPER: I would pay to see Jack with a mohawk.
