JACK CAFFERTY, CNN ANCHOR: Who could forget "The Clones Have Landed." As of midnight last night, finally after all the hype, the next installment of the "Star Wars" saga arrived in theaters at midnight last night.

Standing by in Los Angeles live this morning for us, CNN's Eric Horng, who might be the only guy in L.A. awake at 4:00 a.m. However, Eric, I understand there were lines of fans lined up at midnight waiting to see this. What about this morning? Anything going on yet, or is it too early?

ERIC HORNG, CNN CORRESPONDENT: You know, apparently there is a lot of insomnia going around here in Hollywood, because right now as we speak, the 3:30 a.m. Pacific Time screening is playing to a packed audience. They are all inside Grauman's Chinese Theater right now.

But you did mention that midnight screening. We talked to a number of folks right afterward. Reviews were generally positive. We are told there was a standing ovation after the show.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: It was awesome. We were so happy. This is the greatest movie. They really made up for everything they lacked in the last one. We were really excited.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Oh, it was awesome! Yoda is the best. Yoda is the best.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HORNG: Now, believe it or not, back in 1977, the original "Star Wars" film premiered on only 32 screens nationwide, pretty amazing when you compare that to the 6,000 screens that will be showing this film this weekend -- Paula, Jack.

CAFFERTY: All right. Thanks, Eric. We'll be checking back with you periodically I guess throughout the morning.
