JACK CAFFERTY, CNN ANCHOR: One of the highlights on Friday around these parts is our weekly report from "Over There." But today, there is a wrinkle. Richard Quest is over here. He's at CNN Center in Atlanta, so the report from over there has been slightly altered, but we are looking forward to it nonetheless.

I also enjoyed very much, my friend, the piece about you in "The Wall Street Journal." That was a nice piece of press you got there. Did that cost you a lot of money?

RICHARD QUEST, CNN CORRESPONDENT: More than you can imagine.

Nice down here, isn't it, at the CNN Center? Actually...

CAFFERTY: I have never been there.

QUEST: Oh, well, you ought to visit. Instead of over here...

CAFFERTY: Well, they won't let me in.

QUEST: They won't let me out. That's the problem here -- never mind that. Once I'm in, I'll tell you.

Listen, it's been a busy week, all in all, when we look at the way in which the world, and particularly back in my own country -- you saw Putin and Bush. They live their lives in the goldfish bowl.

What about living your life actually in a shop window? Back home in London, that's what six people agreed to do when they agreed to live their life in Harrods's window store. They went in front of the press and in front of the public. They were chosen on the Internet. And this is extraordinary, because you know what Andy Warhol said: Everybody wants their 15 minutes of fame.

Well, these people have agreed to act as a nuclear family for a whole six days. Everything they do -- well, not quite everything -- don't get salacious, Jack, don't get excited. You are not going to see anything that you shouldn't. I know you.

CAFFERTY: This is like that "All in the Family" episode -- where the Bundys were living in the Safeway store for a while.

QUEST: That's right. They leave the house tomorrow evening. And do you know what they said? It's the most interesting thing. The biggest crowds they get is when they are actually having meals. When they all -- the food is provided by local restaurants, and at nighttime, you don't see them sleeping. They all go off to a local hotel...

CAFFERTY: Well, based on these pictures, your countrymen are a little starved for entertainment, aren't they?

QUEST: Well, I mean, you know, you should see what we have got on television normally over there.

Never mind that. It's fascinating to think that people are actually interested to watch this sort of thing.

CAFFERTY: Yes.

QUEST: Let's move along to one big story that has been in the news, of course, in Britain. Very soon, the former butler of Diana Princess of Wales will be before the court. He, of course, is charged with theft.

It's alleged that he stole many personal memorabilia from the late princess, including CDs, albums, letters from William, and the like. He, of course, says she gave them, or maybe they were given to him. What's really fascinating about this story is that he was caught because there was a story about him on the local television programs on how he lives his life.

Finally, I want to get to this. You talk to me about we're starved for entertainment -- Jack, if I said to you here is what you are going to do this Memorial Day weekend, go and stand on a 90-foot pole in the middle of New York City, and then jump off...

CAFFERTY: I was afraid this was coming.

QUEST: ... and then jump off into cardboard.

CAFFERTY: Yes. Well, hey.

QUEST: And that's what you do for enjoyment in the United States.

CAFFERTY: I've got no argument. You are absolutely right. It's pretty lame, isn't it?

QUEST: David Blaine...

CAFFERTY: But you know what? This guy figured out how to get coverage on primetime television on ABC doing this, so...

QUEST: Which is more than I am going to do.

CAFFERTY: Listen, have a great weekend. Are you going to get home for Memorial Day, or are you going to be here through the weekend?

QUEST: I've got a present to give you on Monday. CAFFERTY: All right. I'll look forward to it. Richard, thank you -- Richard Quest, from CNN Center in Atlanta.
