PAULA ZAHN, CNN ANCHOR: We are going to take you straight back to London now so we can join in on the queen's Golden Jubilee celebration. It's a parade under way. Richard Quest, our man on the ground standing by.
Richard, we're seeing these amazing pictures. How many folks showed up to join the queen for her very special day here?
RICHARD QUEST, CNN CORRESPONDENT: We believe now it's well over a million people that are now in central London, and that have seen the formal from the gold stage coach through to this.
You know, anybody, Paula -- my country, my nation, has this reputation for being reserved, for being somewhat very quiet and refined. Well, let me tell you, anybody seeing these pictures of this parade would be quite shocked. The British reserve is going right out the window. Buckingham Palace has never seen anything like it. The mall is full of people on either side. And right down the center, these vast costumed performers are now coming through, along with members of the public who are joining in. I'd never seen such a scene of color or -- this looks more like the carnival in Brazil.
ZAHN: You know, Richard...
QUEST: Yes.
ZAHN: We're looking at a great picture of Prince Andrew right now chatting with big brother, Prince Charles. I am amazed, at least from this perspective on television, how out in the open the members of the royal family are as they watch this parade. What is the state of the security there today?
QUEST: A very interesting question. What I can tell you is, that there's a line of policemen along the whole ranks. Certainly, from our vantage point, we are sort of up in the sky, if you like, in various commentary boxes, and there are certainly policemen around the commentary boxes, because we have a full line of sights straight through the young princes. But this all works on the basis that, by and large, nobody wants to harm the princes. It might sound naive. But nobody wants to do harm today, Paula, and that's why everybody really, there is not that great of security around them as such.
ZAHN: Thanks for the bird's-eye view of the celebration. I've got to tell you, I've seen a lot of parades in my day, but this one really is very spectacular. The costumes flamboyant. A lot of joy in the air. And appreciate your letting us drop in the queen's golden jubilee.
Take care, Richard.
