THIS IS A RUSH TRANSCRIPT. THIS COPY MAY NOT BE IN ITS FINAL FORM AND MAY BE UPDATED. BILL HEMMER, CNN ANCHOR: Richard Roth today, a sunrise surprise of the World Cup. Moments ago, the U.S. has beaten heavily favored Portugal 3-2 in the first round game, and Richard is around a whole lot of loud fans this morning.
Richard, good morning.
RICHARD ROTH, CNN CORRESPONDENT: Good morning, Bill.
Bedlam here in the bars of New York that stayed open all night and likely across the United States as Americans and soccer fans all over the world poured into this establishment on New York east side to watch the U.S. in a stunner beat Portugal in the opening match for the American team at the World Cup in South Korea, 3-2. Three goals for the Americans, the most they have ever scored in a World Cup game, came in the first half.
Back to you.
HEMMER: Richard, thank you. Back to you shortly there.
