PAULA ZAHN, CNN ANCHOR: Also up front this morning, 76ers guard Allen Iverson turns himself into police. The NBA star is now waiting to be arraigned on felony charges stemming from the July 3 incident in which he allegedly forced his way into a cousin's apartment with a gun.
Josie Karp is standing by in Philadelphia with more -- good morning, Josie.
JOSIE KARP, CNN CORRESPONDENT: Good morning, Paula.
I'm standing outside of the police headquarters in Philadelphia and inside Allen Iverson is being processed. He arrived here early this morning, around 5:20 a.m. He went from his suburban Philadelphia home all the way here to Center City, Philadelphia via motorcade. That motorcade did include police cars.
Now, Iverson, in terms of being processed, that means that he is being fingerprinted. He's being photographed. Eventually he'll go before an arraignment judge via closed circuit television. At that point he'll enter a plea and the judge will set bond.
We did see his attorney this morning, Richard Sprague. You remember that last week when an arrest warrant was issued for Iverson, Sprague was away in Europe on vacation, so he brokered this agreement with the police commissioner that Iverson, as long as he stayed at home and did not leave, could wait five days for his attorney to return and then surrender on Tuesday morning.
That has been done. Sprague has not actually spoken extensively to the media. We believe there's a chance he could do that later today when this process is complete.
The one thing he did say, though, is that his client will plead not guilty -- Paula.
ZAHN: They have confirmed that, then? He will plead not guilty?
KARP: Yes. That's what Sprague said this morning.
ZAHN: Very good.
Josie Karp, thanks for that update. Appreciate it.
KARP: My pleasure.
