PAULA ZAHN, CNN ANCHOR: In the mood to buy a whole new wardrobe? Good news for you. "Sex and the City" fans can now buy some of the famous trend-setting outfits worn by New York City's fabulous and famous girls of summer. We're not talking about a Carrie Bradshaw line of clothing, but the actual clothes worn on the show. You can buy them for the right price.

And CNN's Jeanne Moos decided to try things on for size.

(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)

JEANNE MOOS, CNN CORRESPONDENT (voice-over): It may be called "Sex and the City," but fans seem more interested in how the characters dress, rather than undress.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: From her shoes to her everything.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: You get an idea of what's hot and what's not.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Like looking at "Vogue" magazine.

MOOS: But if looking isn't enough, imagine bidding. Carrie Bradshaw's sundress and pink sweater ensemble was wind blown, it was rained on, then in real life, it was auctioned off.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: We tried to pick signature items that you remember.

MOOS: and even if you blinked and missed the boots Sarah Jessica Parker was wearing, you can catch them on HBO's Web site, Ann Klein vintage fur-trimmed boots, size 8, with a four-inch heel. If the shoe fits, you can bid on them.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: I like. I don't think I could pull it off, though. I don't think. I mean, I'm from Mississippi, so kind of laid back there.

MOOS (on camera): I think you could pull it off.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Thanks.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Besides her grandmother is standing with her. I'm monitoring this. MOOS: Have you watched "Sex and the City" grandma?

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: I'm afraid it's too advanced for me.

MOOS (voice-over): She wears big earrings. Maybe she would like Samantha's from Chanel.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

UNIDENTIFIED ACTRESS: And if he does, it's just sex.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

MOOS: Folks call the Chanel store looking for them, but this was a promotional pair. Even this senior VP at HBO Interactive fell under the spell after seeing Carrie in this outfit.

SARAH COTSEN, V.P., HBO INTERACTIVE: And she looked spectacular. I thought, I want that look.

MOOS: To be married in, so Sarah Cotsen bought the same dress Sarah Jessica Parker bought from designers Bajle Miscka (ph).

After every episode, four or five items are auctioned off for charity. The Christian Dior belt that Samantha wore sashaying through a sushi restaurant went to a female pharmacist in Illinois who paid $670, and plans to wear it if she finds the right outfit.

She's such a huge fan of the show that she bought Carrie's signature horseshoe necklace last year for over 8,000 bucks. At least she doesn't have to worry about that fitting. Charlotte's heart covered halter dress is a size 4. The HBO folks decided against auctioning off Samantha's pearl thong. It's certainly not functional.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: It's certainly not functional.

MOOS: The thong might benefit charity, but offend chastity.

HBO has resisted fans clamoring for the racy stuff.

MINA-HA NGUYEN, MANAGER, HBO INTERACTIVE: One of the things that we've had a lot of requests for, believe it or not, are the fake nipples that Samantha wore.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

UNIDENTIFIED ACTRESS: Eww, what are those?

UNIDENTIFIED ACTRESS: Fake nipples.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

MOOS: Body perks, they're called, a real product, guaranteed to perk up any viewer.

(on camera): You have to get her to watch it. UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: I'll try. I'll do my hardest.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: ... dealing with people coming out of the closet. I'll deal with this gradually.
