JACK CAFFERTY, CNN ANCHOR; I had to put on my flea and tick collar to read this. If you're tired of all the reality TV shows out there and thought you have seen everything, well, think again, there is a new show debuting this week that really bites. I'm sorry.
Jeanne Moos reports.

JEANNE MOOS, CNN CORRESPONDENT: Will a dog reality series go over like a ton of bricks? Maybe not. For those sick of "Survivor," freaked out by "Fear Factor," here's something with a more familiar bite. Meet Karen and her dog Cyrus.
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: He gets a bad wrap.
MOOS (on camera): He's the bad dog of the series?
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: He has some behavioral issues.
MOOS (voice-over): From Cyrus to Cherry to Atticus (ph). they all meet here at the dog park at New York's Madison Square Park. That's the premise of "Dog Days," dreamed up by executive producer Steve Rosenbaum.
STEVE ROSENBAUM, "DOG DAYS," EXEC. PRODUCER: You know, I just was tired of islands, and people eating bugs and torture.
MOOS: Instead the cameras follow New York City dogs to places like Luchien (ph) for a $200 grooming session. In eight one-hour episodes on the Animal Planet channel, you will meet a dog communicator and a pet yoga instructor, among others.
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Exhale.
MOOS: Max's owners think dog yoga is a joke, but they're happy to go along with the show producer.
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: The dog is getting my 15 minutes of fame.
MOOS: Some 500 dog owners showed up for casting calls. Among them, model Eddie Cruz and his dog, Joey.
(on camera): Did they pick you or your dog?
EDDIE CRUZ, JOEY'S ONWER: They picked us as a couple. We're a pair. We're partners in crime. ROSENBAUM: Easier to cast the dogs than the people.
MOOS (voice-over): Those selected became regulars at the Madison Square dog run, where the cast dogs mingle with non-cast dogs like Leroy, who is obsessed with pushing around a brick. Nice footwork.
Choreographer Danielle Flora's (ph) dog, Cherry, has a pivotal role in the series.
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: It's married to Atticus (ph).
MOOS: But matrimony didn't prevent Atticus (ph) from nonstop womanizing at the dog run (ph).
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: I can't afford alimony!
MOOS: Instead of the backbiting you find in other reality shows...
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: He's an obnoxious son of a gun.
MOOS: Cyrus is more interesting in biting shoes.
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: He's actually consumed an entire high heel shoe.
MOOS (on camera): Including the heel?
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Including the heel. Three days later, he actually pooped the heel out, which is the only reason why we discovered where the shoes were.
MOOS (voice-over): "The Wall Street Journal" described "Dog Days" as addictive and mindlessly entertaining -- sort of like pushing around a brick.
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: He cracked the lens?
MOOS: Actually, he just chipped it.
Jeanne Moos, CNN, New York.
