PAULA ZAHN, CNN ANCHOR: The Big Apple is a new target of a major retailer, Target stores. Docking on the Hudson, Andy Serwer is there to tell us what the heck is going on.
Good morning, Andy.

ANDY SERWER, "FORTUNE" MAGAZINE; Ahoy, Paula.

I'm here with John Remington of the Target company, who has come in from Minneapolis, along with this ship.

John, I got to ask you, why are you bringing a shopping ship to Manhattan?

JOHN REMINGTON, VP OF MARKETING, TARGET: Well, right now, Manhattan, as of yet, doesn't have a store, a Target store, and it's an island surrounding by water. Why not bring in the USS Target, so New Yorkers can have that shopping experience?

SERWER: How do sales look for you this season?

REMINGTON: In general, we are very optimistic. Target really stands behind this, expect more and pay less. That will hopefully get people encouraged to come in and shop.

SERWER: I'm liking that pay less.

Listen you guys, we went shopping around here, 92 items on this ship, we kind of found some things, picked out a couple of things for you guys for the holidays. This one here might be good for Jonathan Karl to bring back to Washington D.C.

John, tell us.

REMINGTON: Item number 18 is a Deskmate minifridge, just big enough for two bottles of water.

SERWER: Or beer, Jonathan. Bring that back to D.C.

REMINGTON: We'll put that on there.

SERWER: Let's walk around. What else do we have here, Jonathan?

REMINGTON: Over here, we have Marona, which is our own label of suede coat, which is really nice.

SERWER: And I'm thinking this would be look good for Paula, you know, kind of stylish.

REMINGTON: What in size 54, Andy?

SERWER: We can find a smaller size.

REMINGTON: What about over here? Something for you?

SERWER: Something for me. They picked out something for me. You've got to mark this down. You can get this for me. What is it?

REMINGTON: It's a Michael Graves designed waffle maker for $29.99, you can't go wrong.

SERWER: You guys can afford that?

REMINGTON: I've got Number 33.

SERWER: And let's get to my favorite.

REMINGTON: It's the thermos turkey fryer.

SERWER: This is for Jack Cafferty. Jack, this is what I'm going to get you for this holiday, a deep frying turkey thing. What do you think?

JACK CAFFERTY, CNN ANCHOR: I think that's great. I will put you in and fire it up. What do you think of that?

SERWER: I couldn't fit in that. Come on, Jack. It's beautiful.

CAFFERTY: Put you right in there. Baste you every couple of hours and feed you to the chickens.

SERWER: We will play shuffle board on the other deck. We'll see you guys later.
