ANDY SERWER, "FORTUNE": They just done a study here. The cost of a Thanksgiving meal, Jack, has held constant or even gone down over the past couple of years -- deflation turkey, turkey deflation. There they are.
JACK CAFFERTY, CNN ANCHOR: Why would the price of these things going down?
SERWER: I think this footage is from a couple of weeks ago, don't you? You know what I'm saying?
PAULA ZAHN, CNN ANCHOR: That makes me sad. Like they are already at your grocery store now? OK, we got it.
SERWER: We can see the cost of a Thanksgiving meal, this is for about 10 people, it's gone down from $3.18 to $3.20. Some things are more expense sieve. A 14-pound turkey is up a little bit, stuffing is up, mashed potatoes are up. Turkey costs about $5.88. Aren't you glad I got all this stuff? 29 cents a pound.
CAFFERTY: That's very reasonable. $3.18 to feed 10 people? We should eat turkey every day -- 30 cents a head. That's pretty good.
SERWER: Absolutely.
CAFFERTY: You know, what's interesting is traveling on Thanksgiving.
SERWER: A lot of people do that.
One of the biggest traveling weekends of the year. And traveling up not that much, just up about 2 percent, by car is up 1 percent.
But what we're really interesting here to me is the bottom number there, Jack. More people are going to be flying. And that's because last year, you'll remember, people did not want to fly because of 9/11. In fact, I took a train last year down to Maryland to my mom's house. I'm going to fly this year. Case in point right there.
CAFFERTY: The airlines need it. They are fighting for their lives. I got to admit, I was a little anxious about getting on an airplane for a while. I finally got on one coming back from Atlanta, because I had no choice. They made me go down. Voluntarily, I didn't want to rush right out to the airport.
