JONATHAN KARL, CNN ANCHOR: Today marks one month since Laci Peterson vanished from her home in Modesto, California. No suspects have yet been named and no tips have turned up any solid leads. Tonight, Laci's family will speak out about the case.
Our David Mattingly is live in Modesto.

David, do we have any idea what they're going to say tonight?

DAVID MATTINGLY, CNN CORRESPONDENT: Well, all we can say is that we are expecting the family to give us a statement today. And when they do, when they go in front of the cameras about eight hours from now, it will be the first time they have done so since last week's dramatic revelation that they saw pictures from investigators of Scott Peterson, Laci's husband, with another woman, a woman that they believe was his girlfriend.

Now Scott Peterson has publicly denied having an affair and -- but Laci's family has called upon him to tell them all he knows, saying that they don't believe he's been entirely forthcoming with investigators. And we're not sure what the family will say, but you can bet there will be a lot of questions about how they now feel about their son-in-law.

Now that statement is going to be made here at this Modesto hotel. This is the same hotel that once housed the volunteer center early on in this case. That center has since been closed. But surprisingly, yesterday, the manager here called on reporters and said he had something to say. Turns out it was something very critical about Scott Peterson.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

BRAD SALTZMAN, RED LION MANAGER: I put in endless hours as a volunteer to help him. And when he was done with the volunteer efforts, he packed his car and left, never said thank you, never said goodbye. And so it made me sort of wonder what his real motives about Sunday were.

QUESTION: And what are your thoughts about his real motives?

SALTZMAN: At this point, unfortunately, I think it really wasn't to find Laci. I think it was to be in front of the media and look good in front of the media and show that he's shaking hands to volunteers, and that's not right.

(END VIDEO CLIP) MATTINGLY: And Scott Peterson clearly not the most popular man here in Modesto right now. In the meantime, the search for Laci Peterson goes on. The Web site, LaciPeterson.com, is still up and running and Xerox machines here in the area continue to roll off flyers. And today, Laci Peterson's picture virtually everywhere here in the city of Modesto. This 27-year-old mother-to-be now missing one solid month.

Back to you.

KARL: David Mattingly, thank you.
