PAULA ZAHN, CNN ANCHOR: The insider trading investigation of Martha Stewart is heating up. Her lawyers are pleading with prosecutors to let her off with a fine.
For more on that and a major check of the markets, let’s go to Andy Serwer.

ANDY SERWER, “FORTUNE” MAGAZINE: Good morning, Paula.

Not a great week last week for stocks. Yucko (ph)! The Dow -- that’s a technical term...

ZAHN: Your rally got blown apart, didn’t it?

SERWER: Yes, look at that. The Dow was down 455 points, the Nasdaq, the S&P. Most of the damage done on Friday.

More war drums, that’s what’s going on here. And you know, everyone talked about, oh, the market will go up if there is a war. Well, but it will go down 2,000 points then up 500. You know, I mean, this is a losing game here, folks.

JACK CAFFERTY, CNN ANCHOR: It’s going to head south again today it looks like, too.

SERWER: Yes, yes, the Super Bowl thing not working. We’ll talk about that later in the show.

Martha Stewart. Over the weekend, we have learned that her lawyers have gone to the feds and said, please, don’t file criminal charges against my client; only file civil charges so things aren’t so bad. Well, you know...

CAFFERTY: I don’t want to go to the big house.

SERWER: ... tough luck. I mean, who doesn’t? But you know, she’s got a lot of high-powered lawyers there trying to help her out, and our own -- can I call him that? -- Jeffrey Toobin...

CAFFERTY: Sure.

SERWER: ... scored a major coup by getting an interview with her. The first person to talk with her or her first time talking publicly since that chop-chop CBS “Morning Show” appearance, if you will remember. Some very interesting things she had to say. I sort of think she just doesn’t get it still, but maybe you guys can ask Jeff Toobin about that. ZAHN: Was it the comment in the article, where she said that it was just simple jealously that made people hate her, and that she’s always been fair with people even though...

SERWER: Oh, yes.

ZAHN: ... there have been repeated accounts of behavior contrary to that?

CAFFERTY: Yes, I’ve always been a very nice person.

ZAHN: Is that a nice way of putting it?

CAFFERTY: Yes.

(CROSSTALK)

SERWER: Yes, that and the fact that the whole thing is just perplexing to her. She doesn’t understand why -- you know, come on, get with it. Anyway, you guys will have fun talking about that.

Want to talk about some more Super Bowl ads?

CAFFERTY: OK, let’s do it.

SERWER: What about this Reebok Terry Tate ad here? Let’s see if we can run this for a minute. Do we got that?

ZAHN: This was Bill Hemmer’s favorite from Kuwait.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: I wish Reebok sent us 10 Terry Tates.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

SERWER: Oh, my. For all of you in the office who are messing around, Terry Tate is going to get you.

Now, you know, some of the problems with these ads is, what are they advertising? I mean, I don’t really get the connection between that and Reebok. You know...

ZAHN: Does it matter?

SERWER: I guess it doesn’t. We’re talking about it here, right?

CAFFERTY: Sure.

SERWER: So, that’s all that matters.

CAFFERTY: They’re getting free mileage out of us this morning.

SERWER: Yes, I know.

CAFFERTY: (UNINTELLIGIBLE) pay a dime for this. SERWER: I don’t know, Bill. I didn’t really go for that. We’ll have to talk about that later.

Now, the next one I want to talk about is the Budweiser dog head ad. Let’s roll it.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Oh! Max, you’re killing me.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Hey, everybody dance.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

SERWER: Now that is a good ad. I really liked it. I’ve always been very partial, Jack, to dog head ads, right? You know, every time you put a dog -- I mean, I liked that. I put a fox terrier on my head and it bit me ear one time.

CAFFERTY: There you go.
