PAULA ZAHN, CNN ANCHOR: In the meantime, let's check in with Maria Hinojosa, who is standing by in Hemphill, Texas, where they have a challenge of a different kind. How are the folks there bearing up, Maria?
MARIA HINOJOSA, CNN CORRESPONDENT: Well, Paula, as I had said before, yesterday was called one of the very best days here in Hemphill, Texas, in terms of the amount of debris they discovered. The big piece of debris discovered was the nose cone.

And joining us for exclusive interview on CNN now is Nathan Emer, who discovered that piece.

Nathan, tell us what happened. What did you see when you came upon the nose cone?

NATHAN EMER, FOUND NOSE CONE: It's looked like a big trash pile at first. It's about 20 yards in a circle, insulation, tile, brick, everything.

HINOJOSA: Now you said that it went deep into the ground. Was that because the cone was able to dig out a hole essentially ?

EMER: Yes, ma'am, it went kind of sideways into the ground, about four to five foot into the ground, and you could walk up on it and look down in it.

HINOJOSA: When you looked down in it, what did you see, Nathan?

EMER: Four or five of these big, chrome pedals, wire, electrical wire, dashboard, didn't look like anything had been burned or anything.

HINOJOSA: Give us a sense of how large a piece we're talking about.

EMER: The nose cone was about six foot round and about five foot deep into the ground.

HINOJOSA: When you saw it, did you have any idea what you were looking at?

EMER: Oh, yes, ma'am, I knew.

HINOJOSA: Now what happened? You spoke to authorities. Did they tell you to stay away from it, that they were going to remove it?

EMER: Yes, ma'am, they sent NASA down there right away and they started moving it out, piece by piece last night.

HINOJOSA: Nathan, you have encountered a lot of debris on your property, and the first time we met was when you had just discovered about a foot cylindrical piece of debris. Talk about that and the other things that you found on your property, which is pretty amazing.

EMER: We're just coming down the road, the side of the road, in a four wheeler, and I seen the sun was glistening on something about 10 yards off of the side of the road, and walked up and saw a big six- foot ring just setting, had came straight down in a tree. And then there was a piece of a burnt fire suit laying right there beside my pond.

HINOJOSA: And you, yesterday, you also found -- the way your day started yesterday was you found some windows?

EMER: Yes, ma'am.

HINOJOSA: Can you tell me what you saw?

EMER: I had rode out there in the woods where I go hunting at, and I saw these fresh mud holes, big mud holes full of water. So I stuck a stick down it and I felt something hard, so I reached down and got it out, and it was those big porthole windows. It was busted, glass was about two inches thick, and it had a hole in the middle of it, but I found the piece that was broke out of it, laying around on the ground, so apparently, it hadn't broke until it hit the ground.

HINOJOSA: Thank you so much, Nathan Emer, who joins us here in Hemphill, Texas, very emotional discoveries that he has made on his property, and will probably continue as the researchers go out into the woods here in the Sabine County area.

Back to you, Paula.

ZAHN: Thanks, Maria Hinojosa, reporting for us this morning.
