BILL HEMMER, CNN ANCHOR: Listen, we could not get out of Camp Virginia without introducing you to the mayor, honestly, the mayor of Camp Virginia, Captain Isabelle Knocker (ph) is here.
How did you become the mayor?
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Well, our unit got an RSO mission, its reception staging onward movement. What they have is a responsibility to run each camp kind of like a hotel real estate manager.
HEMMER: So you're in charge? You're the manager?
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: I am the manager. That's a good way to put it, yes.
HEMMER: So you hear the good stuff and you hear the not so good stuff?
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Well, the stuff we need to fix, that's how I look at it.
HEMMER: As mayor, how much politics is in your job?
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: There's a little bit of politics, but we manage that all right.
HEMMER: A little too much?
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Sometimes it's OK. It's absolutely management.
HEMMER: Got you. Listen, while you're here, we just want to a quick note, Lieutenant General Gary Hughey is a member of the U.S. Marine Corps. He was on show a little earlier today, and apparently, he was identified as a member of the Army. And what the Army will tell you is, don't ever call me a Marine. And what the Marines will tell you is, don't ever call me a soldier. So I wanted to make that clarification.
Quickly, Isabelle, you want to say hello to your family out there in California?
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Yes, absolutely, in Santa Barbara, California.
Hi, folks, I'm doing well. I miss you guys.
HEMMER: Nice. Thanks for taking time, OK. Good luck managing all these people out here, 6,000 and growing by the day.
Back again tomorrow, somewhere in the Kuwaiti desert.
