PAULA ZAHN, CNN ANCHOR: Now for a change of pace, we head out to the Persian Gulf, where U.S. forces are preparing for war.
Bill Hemmer reporting live from Kuwait this morning -- good morning, Bill.
BILL HEMMER, CNN ANCHOR: Good morning, Paula.
I tell you, it must be quite a contrast for viewers to see that snow back in the U.S. and then come to our conditions here in the desert.
Listen, it is quite remarkable right now to see the amount of training that the military is getting on a daily basis out here. We're at a live fire range seven, one of 10 set up in the northern desert. We want to show you a high angle camera here, Paula, just to show you how expansive this area is.
There's a line of Bradley fighting vehicles getting ready to conduct their own exercise and when we come back in a couple of minutes, Paula, we'll show you how they're going through their steps and let you know more about the training underway right now -- back to you now in New York.
See you in a couple of minutes.
ZAHN: I bet you're really heartbroken, you're missing the 24 inches of snow we're expected to get here, Bill.
Enjoy the desert, right?
HEMMER: Well, I'll tell you what. I know some of the reporters are getting ice in their eyes, but we're getting wicked sand in our eyes out here so.
ZAHN: I can see that.
OK, see you in a little bit.
Thanks, Bill.
