PAULA ZAHN, CNN ANCHOR: Let's check in with Bill Hemmer, who's standing by in Kuwait. We find him at Camp Doha this morning, which looks pretty much like a base at home, doesn't it?
BILL HEMMER, CNN ANCHOR: I would say kind of like a shopping mall. Maybe the food court, Paula.

Take a look at this real quickly here. For the marines and the soldiers, they're getting a chance to come to this location literally fresh from the desert, Subway and Hardees, pizza and -- not quite a Pizza Hut, but it's close. A little Baskin Robbins, KFC, just part of the many features that we find right now that the military has set up for a number of people who are able to come in here not on a daily basis. We find people maybe a month, every two months getting the opportunity.

In a moment here, we're going to introduce you to a guy that we found here who's been in the desert longer than anyone we've been able to talk to here at Camp Doha. A pretty special story he's got to tell, as well.

Also, Paula, we found ATM machines -- only American dollars are taken here -- a giant weight room, a movie theater with movies showing every night. It gives the men and women overseas half a world away from their families just a slice of Americana, just a little bit of R&R after some very arduous duty out in the desert.

More for you in a moment here at Camp Doha -- Paula.

ZAHN: It really does look like a food court at any American shopping mall.

HEMMER: Yes.

ZAHN: All right, Bill.

HEMMER: It's all here.

ZAHN: Home sweet home.

HEMMER: And I'll tell you what, we're going to get further into it, too, but there's so much down here, Paula, that it is.

OK, we'll talk to you in a couple of minutes.

ZAHN: Thanks, Bill.
