BILL HEMMER, CNN ANCHOR: Quickly to Walt Rodgers, checking up again. Two hours ago Walt broke some news here on CNN about an attack on a group of the U.S. 3rd Infantry.
Walt -- what's happening now? Good afternoon there.

WALTER RODGERS, CNN SENIOR INTERNATIONAL CORRESPONDENT: Pretty much the same, Bill. The Iraqis did fire a missile, some sort of perhaps wire-guided missile, at the 2nd Brigade headquarters, 3rd Infantry Division. There are casualties, at least six wounded, and it was apparently quite an explosion when it hit. There may -- as I say, six wounded that we know of, four to six missing in the initial count immediately afterwards.

This is a direct consequence, of course, of the attack on Baghdad this morning. The 2nd Brigade headquarters, of course, would have been in command of those forces that went into the city of Baghdad. Those forces in Baghdad now are three Army battalions.

And what's different today is, Army sources are telling CNN, this is not a foray. Those three battalions are inside the city. They're there to hold it -- Bill.

HEMMER: All right, Walt, listen, check back in when you get more.

Again, for our viewers, who are just waking up back in the U.S., there are significant developments in and around Baghdad. We are told perhaps 70 M1A1 tanks, 60 Bradley Fighting Vehicles entered earlier today.
