BILL HEMMER, CNN ANCHOR: The interim leadership group could soon be in place in Iraq. That's the assessment anyway of the man in charge, Jay Garner, charged with trying to get that country back on its feet.
Live to Baghdad and Rym Brahimi, where it's the afternoon there.
Rym, good afternoon.
RYM BRAHIMI, CNN CORRESPONDENT: Good afternoon to you, Bill.
Well, Jay Garner calls this is a collective interim leadership, and that interim leadership group, he says, will be comprised of nine people. They will include people who've been outside of the country or exiled Iraqis who've just returned, as well as local Iraqis that have been here. He says it will be a group representative of the various ethnic and religious groups that make up Iraq.
And of course, he says that he's planning to make that happen by the middle of the month. And this, as you know, Bill, comes at a moment when Iraqis are really urging, demanding a return to normalcy, and demanding in particular some form of governance to restore some form of order in the country -- Bill.
HEMMER: All right, Rym, thanks. Rym Brahimi, watching the latest there.
