HEIDI COLLINS, CNN ANCHOR: A school bus driver in Milwaukee is suspected of abusing a 9-year-old boy who has Down's Syndrome. The boy's parents have a tape they say proves their case.
Affiliate reporter Brian McKaig of WTMJ has the details.

(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)

BRIAN MCKAIG, WTMJ CORRESPONDENT (voice-over): For months, Jacob's parents were getting notes from bus driver Brian Duchow saying Jacob's behavior on the bus was unacceptable.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: No one expects to hear their child being abused.

MCKAIG: But when they heard this tape recording, they say it was Duchow's behavior that was unacceptable.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Right this way.

MCKAIG: According to the criminal complaint, Duchow yelled at Jacob, "Stop before I beat the living hell out of you," and "Do I have to tape your mouth shut? Because you know I will."

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: (UNINTELLIGIBLE).

MCKAIG: His parents say you can hear the driver slapping Jacob in the face.

VINCE MUTULO, JACOB'S FATHER: He couldn't have said mom or dad, this guy is hitting me. He couldn't say that. He doesn't say that.

MCKAIG: Jacob still says the name of the bus driver, no Brian.

In Milwaukee, Brian McKaig, today's TMJ4.

(END VIDEOTAPE)

COLLINS: Jacob's parents are going to be speaking with us a little bit later here on AMERICAN MORNING. We will hear from the Mutulos and try to find out what it was that made them make that decision to put the tape recorder in the back of his backpack.
