BILL HEMMER, CNN ANCHOR: We want to get now to the hazing incident in Northbrook, Illinois. Authorities there say they are getting closer now to filing criminal charges against the students who were involved in that incident, which sent five girls to the hospital.
Our Jeff Flock live this morning in Northbrook, Illinois for more on this -- Jeff, what are you finding out?
Good morning there.
JEFF FLOCK, CNN CORRESPONDENT: Indeed, Bill, good morning.
A breezy morning here in the Chicago suburbs. You see Glenbrook North High School back there behind me. And as you reported, it could be as early as today that some students at this high school could be charged in connection with last Sunday's hazing incident.
What could the charges be? Well, potentially battery, potentially aggravated battery against the students. And then if the parents are determined to have provided either the alcohol that fueled that binge or, perhaps, some of the pig entrails and other materials that were used during it, possible charges against them, as well.
As to what has taken place here lately, last night there was a school board meeting, a public session. Truth be told, it was not well attended. About a dozen parents and students heard from. And then following that they went into closed door session. No word what took place there. Not surprisingly, in the public session, the school board president condemned what went on.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
CAROL ROGAL, SCHOOL BOARD PRESIDENT: We wish that we could have done more to prevent this reprehensible event. Without question, we will pursue additional and alternative methods of intervention.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
FLOCK: Again, what those might be we might find out today, Bill. There is a press conference scheduled 1:00 p.m. local time, Central Time, here by the school board. So anything that could come from them we might hear today. That, of course, separate from the criminal charges, which could come, as we said, as early as today.
We'll see.
HEMMER: Yes, we will.
Jeff, thanks.
