HEIDI COLLINS, CNN ANCHOR: Keeping an eye in the skies for us, as we begin the big holiday weekend, Travelocity's air travel expert, Rally Caparas, is at the CNN Center.
Hello to you, Rally.
RALLY CAPARAS, TRAVELOCITY AIR TRAFFIC SPECIALIST: Good morning, Heidi, Bill, Jack and America. I hope everybody is ready for what's going to happen today, folks. It's not going to be a real easy travel day for the East. I've got a lot to say. Let's get right to it.
Looking at flightexplorer.com this morning, were already seeing about 1,500 airplanes that are talking air traffic control at this very minute. You see where the problem is, the green stuff off the East Coast. Here is how it's going to affect things today.
If you're headed into LaGuardia or Newark airports, up in this region here, you can expect 45 to 60 minute arrival and delays throughout the day. It's already started. Low clouds, rain, poor visibility, some wind, it's going to stick around throughout the weekend.
Philadelphia to further south, 30 to 45 minute arrival and delays. It's going to result -- actually it's going to be -- I'm sorry -- because of the same types of conditions, low clouds, fog and rain, obscured visibility there.
Then further south at Washington, D.C., all three of those major airports there, you will experience similar conditions. It's going to be there throughout the weekend once again. That's going to be 0 to 45 minute arrival and departure delays.
And I'll be back in a half-hour -- actually an hour from now with the latest from Travelocity's "Eye on the Sky."
Back to you all.
COLLINS: Rally Caparas, thanks so much for summing all of that up for us.
