HEIDI COLLINS, CNN ANCHOR: Also keeping an eye in the skies for us as we begin a big holiday weekend, Travelocity's air traffic expert, Rally Caparas is at the CNN Center, as well.
Hi, Rally.

RALLY CAPARAS, TRAVELOCITY: Good morning, Heidi.

Well, folks, it's going to be a busy travel day, as you know. We're already looking at somewhere in the neighborhood of 2,500 airplanes that are talking to the nation's air traffic controllers at this very moment.

Look at all that green stuff off the East Coast.

Here's what's going to happen for you.

If you're headed into LaGuardia Airport or Newark Liberty Airport this morning, you can expect 45 to 60 minute arrival delays. Lots of low clouds, some rain, wind, poor airport surface visibility is going to slow things down off and on throughout the day. Be prepared for that hour long delay.

Philadelphia, you'll see 30 to 45 minute arrival delays as a result of the similar conditions. If the wind kicks up, parallel runways there become less than optimal and you can see bigger slowdowns.

D.C. metro and Charlotte, 30 minute arrival delays, low clouds, rain and fog early. We should see close to on time schedules later on this afternoon.

Heidi, back to you.

I'll be back in about an hour with the latest.

COLLINS: Wow, 2,500 planes in the sky. Unbelievable.

Travelocity's Rally Caparas this morning for us.

Thanks so much.
