BILL HEMMER, CNN ANCHOR: A former U.N. inspector now joining in the U.S. hunt for WMD. He'll work with a newly formed team of experts.
You might remember his name.

For more on this, here's Richard Roth at the U.N. with that.

RICHARD ROTH, CNN CORRESPONDENT: His name is David Kay. He has previously worked with International Atomic Energy Agencies search for nuclear weapons in Iraq. That was more than 11, 12 years ago. He was appointed by George Tenet of the CIA. He is going to work closely with the Pentagon teams looking for weapons of mass destruction, if they exist somewhere in Baghdad. Clearly another attempt to beef up the effort to find these weapons. Dissatisfaction in the Bush administration so far that nothing has turned up.

Here at the United Nations, Bill, some officials who have worked with prior and current U.N. inspection efforts have kind of watched with some criticism and concern as Kay and others in Washington, who have not been on the ground for years have spoken out harshly about Dr. Blix and others, but right now, they have no official comment. The inspectors from the international side of things here at the U.N. are kept out by the U.S. in the search for weapons -- Bill.

HEMMER: Richard Roth at the U.N.
