DARYN KAGAN, CNN ANCHOR: Cynthia Nixon's character "Miranda Hobbes" is a corporate lawyer and a new mother with a complicated relationship with Steve, the father of her child. Cynthia Nixon joins us here this morning.
Good morning.

CYNTHIA NIXON, ACTRESS: Good morning.

KAGAN: It's so nice to be with you on a Tuesday morning. I feel like I spend every Sunday night with you and all the girls.

This is kind of a bittersweet character turn for Miranda. She's finding she's in love with Steve, the father of her child, who she's not had a love-hate, but a love-not like so much relationship.

NIXON: A love, don't get so close to me, you're crowding me relationship for a long time. Yes, I think she's very startled to find the tables turned on her. I think she was in love with him, and he was in love with her, and then she decided that he wasn't the man for her, and he kept hanging around and hanging around, and then she got pregnant, and she felt like, you know, not the guy for me, not the guy for me, not the guy for me, and all of a sudden, she wakes up one day, and she's like, how can I have been so blind? And she has to go and swallow her pride and talk to him about it, and he's moved on. And wow, she's not used to having the tables turned on her this way.

KAGAN: It was of interesting in Sunday's episode when she had that moment of, oh my gosh, he's the guy. You had just done a very cute scene where you don't realize it, but you keep wiping baby pop off your forehead, not the most glamorous moment from a series that's known for being very glamorous.

NIXON: No, but we have our humiliation moments, particularly I get my share of them, but I think there was something about having fun together and laugh, and how they have this baby they love so much. I think she realized in a moment that they've become a family in a way that took her by surprise.

KAGAN: All right, the exciting this about this morning is we have a little clip of what's coming up next week. Basically, you're going from Stevo to Tivo.

Let's take a look at that for next week.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

NIXON: While,I'm eating a slice of pizza, my boyfriend is home taping my favorite TV show.

SARAH JESSICA PARKER, ACTRESS: And to which boyfriend are we referring?

NIXON: My boyfriend Tivo.

PARKER: Ah, you've traded Stevo for Tivo.

NIXON: We don't talk of Stevo anymore.

PARKER: Who needs him.

NIXON: With Tivo, when there's something I don't enjoy, I just speed right through it.

PARKER: If only I could do that in life.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

KAGAN: One of the things that's going to be difficult in a lot of people's lives is giving up the relationship that we have with the characters. Have they come up with endings for all the characters? I heard for Carrie they hadn't.

NIXON: Oh, I don't know. I mean, I think that they have. I know about...

KAGAN: You know what's going to happen to you?

NIXON: I do what's going to happen to me.

KAGAN: Without giving away too much, we'd like to see it unfold over Sunday nights -- are you comfortable with what's happening to her?

NIXON: Yes, I think people have been asking me for years, what would I like to see happen to Miranda? And as always, our writers are some steps ahead of me, I think they've come up with such a clever and such a meaningful thing to happen to Miranda that I never would have dreamed of in a million years.

KAGAN: That's going to makes us look forward to it just that much more. What about what's going to happen to Cynthia?

NIXON: I don't know. Cynthia is going to be very surprised come February when there is no more Miranda and there is no more "Miranda" and there is now more "Sex in the City." None of us can believe it. We're all just, you know, Miranda's in denial that she's not with Steve anymore. She's just trying to drown herself in Tivo. All of the girls on the show are in total denial that this is ending. We're not going to know what to do with ourselves.

KAGAN: So you're not ready to answer the question, are you ready to say goodbye?

NIXON: No. Luckily we've got a number of months of shooting ahead of us. We don't have to say goodbye yet.

KAGAN: OK, well then, We won't either. We'll have you stop by again before we all wrap this up. Thank you so much. Cynthia Nixon, "Sex in the City," Miranda Hobbes, as we all know you, among other characters.

Appreciate seeing you this morning.

NIXON: Thank you.
