BILL HEMMER, CNN ANCHOR: There is developing news in the state of West Virginia. Another shooting at a convenience store there in Charleston -- no one injured last night -- which happened late last night near the town.
Art Harris live from the scene yet again.
And the big today is whether or not police have said that there is a link or a connection -- Art, good morning.
What are they saying?
ART HARRIS, CNN CORRESPONDENT: Good morning, Bill.
Here's what we know. Early this morning near Charleston, West Virginia, a high speed chase of a possible suspect who gets away after two shots are fired outside another convenience store, and barely missed a 16-year-old girl.
It was just after 11:00 p.m. Wednesday night. The Go Mart had closed its front doors. Customers were paying through a security window, where the teenager was standing in line. She looked around and noticed a pickup truck.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: She said it hit the building and it went right by her head. And she couldn't, she talked but I couldn't understand her, she was so upset.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
HARRIS: The pickup truck that she saw is consistent with this computer animation that police say was similar to a truck spotted at two previous murder scenes six days ago. After a police officer took the girl's statement, he alerted state and county police to be on the lookout for a dark maroon pickup truck. A sheriff's deputy spotted it and the chase began. The truck got away.
Earlier, a different time, a different place, police tell me a witness outside the -- another place saw a driver of a similar pickup truck and he gave this description. The driver was tall, trim and he was sporting a beard -- Bill.
HEMMER: All right, Art Harris live in Charleston, West Virginia. It continues to be a serious story and a significant one there, based on the activity from last night. TO ORDER A VIDEO OF THIS TRANSCRIPT, PLEASE CALL 800-CNN-NEWS OR USE OUR SECURE ONLINE ORDER FORM LOCATED AT www.fdch.com
