SOLEDAD O'BRIEN, CNN ANCHOR: Let's turn now to Iraq, where another U.S. soldier was killed today, three others wounded. The U.S. Army says a supply convoy was attacked just north of Baghdad.
And CNN's Rym Brahimi joins us from the Iraqi capital with the latest from there.

Rym -- good morning.

RYM BRAHIMI, CNN CORRESPONDENT: Good morning to you, Soledad.

Indeed, a soldier from the 4th Infantry Division was killed and three other soldiers were wounded, when their convoy fell under small- arms and rocket-propelled fire attack, and that happened in the north of Baghdad. The wounded soldiers are getting treatment in a hospital, as we speak.

We also understand that there was another attack against U.S. soldiers in Fallujah, west of the Iraqi capital. Two U.S. soldiers appear to have been wounded in that attack. Apparently, their Humvee was attacked as it drove past a mosque in this town in the west, a town that's been known for its regular attacks against U.S. soldiers in the past months, if you will.

Now, one of the things the U.S. military are doing to work on the security problems there, it's conducting raids. They've been doing that on a regular basis for weeks now. The latest raid took place in Baquba. That's about a 45-minute drive northeast of Baghdad. It's an area where previously quite a few U.S. soldiers have been killed in grenade or rocket-propelled grenade attacks.

And one of the raids that was conducted just last night in that area seems to have netted quite a few arrests, but it's not clear yet how many arrests and how many weapons were confiscated. We will bring you up-to-date with that as soon as we get that information, Soledad, as the U.S. military continues to work on this very challenging security situation -- Soledad.

O'BRIEN: All right, Rym Brahimi for us in Baghdad this morning. Rym, thanks.
