BILL HEMMER, CNN ANCHOR: To L.A. right now and the arrest this morning in the shooting death of Yetunde Williams Price, the older sister of tennis stars Venus and Serena Williams. Police have arrested a 24-year-old man in connection with that shooting on Sunday.
Frank Buckley is live in Monterey Park outside the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

Do they believe they have their man -- Frank, good morning there.

FRANK BUCKLEY, CNN CORRESPONDENT: Good morning, Bill.

They say that Aaron Hammer, the 24-year-old who is in custody, they believe, is one of the shooters, as they describe him. He is also described as a gang associate. He was one of the six people who was inside the home near the shooting scene in Compton when this took place, very early Sunday morning.

Also arrested was the companion of Yetunde Price. He is described as Rolland Wormley. But he was arrested on a parole violation.

This took place during a confrontation just after midnight on Sunday. Investigators say deputies in this area of Compton had been to this home before, but they're still trying to piece together exactly what led to the gunfire.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

LT. DAN ROSENBERG, L.A. COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT: We don't know what the motive is and I can tell you, it's been a problem residence on prior occasions. And although we believe that it may be involved in either narcotics or gangs, there's certainly not enough evidence to substantiate it at this point in the investigation.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

BUCKLEY: Yetunde Price was 31 years old. She was the single mother of three children. They're ages five, nine and 11. She was the personal assistant and business manager for both Venus and Serena Williams. I talked to a family spokesperson last night who said that she was the glue that kept everything together. We're told that the entire family is now here in the Los Angeles area grieving together -- Bill.

HEMMER: Frank Buckley, thanks, in southern California.

More details when we get it on this still developing story there.
