SOLEDAD O'BRIEN, CNN ANCHOR: Other courtroom news now. The trial of D.C. sniper suspect John Muhammad continues today.
Jeanne Meserve is live for us in Virginia Beach with more this morning -- Jeanne, good morning.

JEANNE MESERVE, CNN CORRESPONDENT: Good morning, Soledad.

Today the prosecution expected to talk about the last of the sniper slayings. That's the murder of Conrad Johnson, the ride on bus driver. In addition to that, the prosecution perhaps will get to the beginnings of the story of the rest of John Muhammad and Lee Malvo.

Tomorrow, there will not be any court because it's election day. But as the week goes on, the prosecution is expected to continue to present its case, more about the arrest, the search of the vehicle, which turned up the rifle and also a computer, which sources tell me had on it notations about some of the murders that had been committed and apparently some notations about murders that were planned. A host of other evidence in that vehicle.

After that, they'll put on some forensic evidence, forensic experts who will try and tie that evidence to John Muhammad. And then there'll be a variety of other witnesses, some of them talking about the impact these murders had on the community.

One of the witnesses we've been told who's going to be called later this week is Una James. She is the mother of Lee Malvo. We know that in interviews she has given, she has spoken quite strongly about the negative influence she feels that John Muhammad had on her son. It's expected that that would be the subject of her testimony here.

Una James and Lee Malvo had been in this country illegally. She was sent back to Jamaica. Special provisions had to be made to bring her back into this country to testify.

Something happened last night at the airport in Jamaica. She didn't make it into this country, as expected. But there are several more days before she's expected to be called -- Soledad, back to you.

O'BRIEN: All right, Jeanne Meserve for us in Virginia Beach, Virginia this morning.

Jeanne, thanks for that update.
