SOLEDAD O'BRIEN, CNN ANCHOR: Let's take a look at this story, 100,000 American servicemen and women serving in Iraq, where Veterans Day is, frankly, as dangerous as any other day.
Matthew Chance is live for us in Baghdad this morning with more.
Matthew, good morning.
MATTHEW CHANCE, CNN CORRESPONDENT: Good morning to you as well, Soledad. For all of those 100,000 or more U.S. troops on the ground, it is a very special day here, not least because they've all become Veterans themselves now. And as they remember those who have died, those who have fallen in the months since Baghdad fell, they have to face up to the reality as well, that there's a great deal more difficulties ahead of them. November has already proved an extremely bloody month for U.S. forces; 38 U.S. servicemen killed here this month so far. Remember, only the 11th of this month. So there's a great deal of apprehension among forces you speak to, troops on the ground, about the difficulties that lie ahead -- Soledad.
O'BRIEN: Matthew, thanks.
