BILL HEMMER, CNN ANCHOR: Also from Iraq today another American soldier has been injured by a bomb. This comes as the holy month of Ramadan draws to a close. It's been an especially violent period there. Two deaths in Mosul, yesterday, especially disturbing.
Walter Rodgers live in Baghdad for more on what's happening today. Walter, hello.
WALTER RODGERS, CNN SENIOR INTERNATIONAL CORRESPONDENT: Hello, Bill. Today certainly was not as lethal as the weekend when three U.S. soldiers were killed in two separate incidents yesterday. But again the Army is confirming that two of its soldiers were executed by an Iraqi mob in Mosul yesterday.
Contrary to earlier eyewitness reports, those soldiers, the Army now says, did not have their throats slit. Rather the mob shot them both in the head.
Not in dispute, however, are the continuing eyewitness reports that the mob dragged the dead soldier's bodies out of the car, abused and mutilated them and then stole the soldiers' personal possessions.
It was a very bad weekend for those soldiers and their families -- Bill.
HEMMER: Walter Rodgers, thanks, from Baghdad.
