HEIDI COLLINS, CNN ANCHOR: As president's traditionally do on Thanksgiving, President Bush will spend part of this holiday calling U.S. troops around the world to thank them for their service. And he will be making the calls from his ranch in Texas, where he will have a traditional feast with his family.
Dana Bash is live in Crawford to tell us all about it. Hi, Dana.
DANA BASH, CNN CORRESPONDENT: Good morning, Heidi.
And the president is expected to make some calls, as is tradition when the president is here on his ranch in Crawford, Texas. And he is likely to give them the message that he gave to troops when he spoke to them in Fort Carson, Colorado earlier this week, which is that he appreciates all of their sacrifice, and all that they have been doing while serving in -- not only in Iraq, but also in Afghanistan.
Now the president, aside from that, will be having a quiet day on his ranch, away from what he calls the bubble of Washington, where he'll be able to take walks with the First Lady, and also gather with many members of the Bush family who are currently at his ranch, the Prairie Chapel Ranch, including his father and his mother, the former president and First Lady.
Now you're probably wondering, Heidi, what is going to be on the menu at the Prairie Chapel Ranch. And I just happen to have a couple of items here for you. Of course he's going to be having turkey and chilpotle sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, some Texas grapefruit. And for dessert, we are told that the president will be having some Prairie Chapel pecan pie. and that will be made from some pecans grown right there on his 1600 acre ranch -- Heidi?
COLLINS: All right. Wish I was going to be there. Sounds pretty good. All right, Dana Bash.
BASH: Me, too.
COLLINS: Thanks so much.
