HEIDI COLLINS, CNN ANCHOR: Meanwhile, British police have arrested two terror suspects, and they say they believe one of them has links to al Qaeda. Police say they found explosive material in one suspect's home, and British media reports say one suspect may have connections to the show bomber, Richard Reid.
Matthew Chance is in Gloucester, England. Good morning to you, Matthew.
MATTHEW CHANCE, CNN CORRESPONDENT: Good morning to you as well, Heidi. British security officials saying they believe they have made a significant breakthrough in their counterterrorism efforts in this country. You join me here in Gloucester City in the west of England, about 100 miles or so from the British capital, where these latest raids have taken place.
This building right behind me there with the blue sign out in front of it is where one of the raids took place. Forensic teams from the police have been in there, looking for any kind of explosive material, any kind of evidence they could use to further their investigation. But just around the corner, yesterday morning here there was quite a significant arrest, according to a British official here.
A 24-year-old British Asian man suspected of having very strong links with the al Qaeda network detained there, been taken into police custody. A small but significant, according to police, amount of explosives also taken into custody at that address. Forensic teams are still at work there trying to gather evidence because the police here say this may be just the tip of the iceberg here in Britain. This is just not just a Gloucester investigation, but it's nationwide and it's ongoing -- Heidi.
COLLINS: All right. Matthew Chance, live this morning from Gloucester, England, thanks so much for that.
