DR. SANJAY GUPTA, CNN ANCHOR: Well, in about two hours, President Bush will head to his ranch in Crawford, Texas. That's where he's going to ringing the new year. But it's not all relaxation for Mr. Bush, as his aides keep him up to date on terrorism threats.
For more now, we go to Dana Bash, who's at the White House -- Dana, good morning.

DANA BASH, CNN CORRESPONDENT: Good morning, Sanjay.

And the president had a quiet Christmas Day at Camp David. But we are told he had a number of briefings, both in person and on the phone, by senior aides and by military officials. Those briefings, we're told, ranged on a number of subjects. But, of course, primarily he was discussed -- it was discussed with him the latest intelligence that has led to this heightened state of alert.

Now, officials do say they are still very concerned about the threat of attack by al Qaeda using a plane that originates abroad and officials are discussing the issue with a number of countries, including Mexico, discussing the potential for a security breach at airports in their country.

Now, with regard to the unprecedented canceling of six Air France flights on Christmas Eve, officials say they have questioned and released a number of passengers slated to be on those flights. But they remain concerned about a handful of people who they weren't able to question because they didn't show up for the flight, including one they believe to have a commercial airline pilot's license -- Sanjay.

GUPTA: All right, Dana Bash at the White House report for us this morning.

Thank you, Dana.
