SOLEDAD O'BRIEN, CNN ANCHOR: In New Hampshire, the Democratic hopefuls for president immediately found fault with the president's address.
Bob Franken in New Hampshire following the reaction there.

He's live in Manchester this morning -- Bob, good morning.

BOB FRANKEN, CNN CORRESPONDENT: Well, Soledad, it would have been really big news if one of the Democrats had said absolutely, the president is absolutely on track, he said just the right thing. But, of course, they did not.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

GEN. WESLEY CLARK (D), PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE: He's running on broken promises, empty slogans and failed commitments.

SEN. JOHN KERRY (D-MA), PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE: Last month, the goal of this administration was to create 250,000 jobs. They created 1,000 jobs, 249,000 short.

SEN. JOHN EDWARDS (D-NC), PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE: He'll say the state of our union is strong. The question is which union?

DR. HOWARD DEAN (D), PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE: I think this president thinks that things look terrific from the White House balcony or from the suites of the big corporations with the CEOs that are benefiting from his policies.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

FRANKEN: The fight between Democrats is the one about who is best qualified, how is the one who is going to have the easiest chance beating George W. Bush -- Soledad.
